The petroleum activities both onshore and offshore must be undertaken within the framework of a sustainable development, and the environmental challenges must be solved in a manner that ensures coexistence with other interests.
To deal with future energy challenges, new energy efficient technology and innovative processes need to be developed. Over the last five years, ExxonMobil Corporation has invested 3,7 billion dollars in research and development, which has yielded good results.
ExxonMobil in Norway is working to create an environment where people care about and help each other to achieve a common goal – “Nobody Gets Hurt” and “Protect Today Tomorrow”. We have established an important principle in our activities – all injuries and incidents can be avoided.
There will be need for many different energy sources to meet the global energy demand towards 2030.
