Our philosophy is that incidents don’t just happen – they are caused by dangerous circumstances or actions. It is crucial to prevent incidents or injuries of any kind.

Within upstream one of our major means to achieve this goal is our SHE management system: OIMS (Operations Integrity Management System). The system secures a discplined and systematic approach to avoid unwanted incidents.

Within upstream, a responsible management of equipment, crude oil and products is necessary to avoid fires, explosions and acute pollution. If an emergency should still arise, an emergency organization is set up according to the refinery’s emergency plan. Fire and oil spill exercises are regularly held to secure the workers are well trained and that the equipment is efficient and tested.
