climate change
ExxonMobil recognises that the risk of climate change and its potential impacts on society and ecosystems may prove to be significant and that actions are needed to address this issue. We are taking actions to reduce emissions now and are also investing in research and technology in the area of advanced vehicles and fuels, energy technology and climate science that can help find long-term solutions to global warming.
To understand the risk and consequences of climate change, it is necessary to put up a substantial R&D effort. Over more than twenty years, ExxonMobil’s scientists have worked hard to increase the knowledge about climate change. We support research programs within climate change being undertaken by prestigous institutes like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Carnegie-Melon University and The International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas Research and Development Program.
